Memorial Day - May 26, 2025

The Memorial Day Parade began at the Pomperaug Office Park parking lot, located across from CVS, Depot Hill Road, continued down Main Street South, and ended at the Veterans Memorial Green, located between the Town Hall and the Senior Center/Park & Recreation Offices. At that time, the Ceremony honoring those who served our country took place. The annual Family Day Picnic at Ballantine Park concluded the day.

The annual event is organized by the Southbury Parks & Recreation Department and Memorial Day Parade Committee with help from the Southbury Police, Senior Services, Emergency Management, Public Works and Fire Departments.

Special thanks to VFW Post 1607, American Legion Post 147, American Legion Post 204, Scouts and Scout Leaders, H.H. Stone, Pomperaug High School Band, Southbury First Selectman Jeffrey Manville, State Representative Jason Buchsbaum, Southbury Ambulance Association, singers Willie Nininger and Jan Scruggs, Rabbi Polokoff and Father Jaime Maldonado, Carol Gagan, Camille Dumont and Gail Mikolsky, Mike and Lisa Salese, Bill Hahn, and our main speaker Lt.
