Full Time or Part Time Positions

Assistant Assessor. Full Time with benefits. Provides responsible administrative and clerical assistance to the Assessor in the valuation of real estate, personal property and motor vehicles in preparation of the Grand List as set forth in the State Statutes. Must be a Certified Connecticut Municipal Assessor I, or be certified within one year of hire. Must be familiar with the CAMA and administrative systems. Must have a valid motor vehicle license. Assistant Town Clerk/Assistant Registrar of Vital Statistics. Full Time with benefits. Records and processes land records and maps. Assists in the preparation of ballots and other details for elections and referendums. Issues, processes and certifies licenses and permits as appropriate for vital records. Graduation from high school and two to three years of administrative, real estate or customer service experience in a similar type of environment. Must be able to pass the state certification test for Town Clerks within four years of hire. Salary depends on experience. Summer Camp Counselor. (Parks and Rec Department position.) Serves as a staff member responsible for youth in the Camp Counselor’s assigned group, and assists in implementing camp program activities, events, and health and safety procedures. Collaborates with other counselors, creates recreational plans and activities, and leads campers in fun-filled projects. Teenscape Summer Camp Counselor. (Parks and Rec Department position.) Serves as an adult responsible for a group of teens that travel to a different activity location in the surrounding areas daily. Per Diem

Mini-Bus Driver/Utility. Part time, assigned shifts with additional hours available. Seeking an opportunity for flexible hours working with seniors? Like to travel? Town of Southbury is seeking individuals that enjoy working with seniors as assigned shift Bus Drivers to transport senior and/or disabled Southbury residents to and from appointments, local destinations and trips within and outside of Connecticut. No prior experience necessary, although candidate must hold State of Connecticut license with appropriate endorsements (minimum “F” endorsement), finger printing and current medical certificate from your physician. May also be used as a utility person to help with various tasks at the Senior Center.  $16.98 per hour.
