Early Voting

• Dates: August 3-9
• Place: Southbury Town Hall, Room 205B, 501 Main Street South
• Hours:
  • August 3: 10:00am-6:00pm (Monday)
  • August 4: 8:00am-8:00pm (Tuesday)
  • August 5: 10:00am-6:00pm (Wednesday)
  • August 6: 8:00am-8:00pm (Thursday)
  • August 7: 10:00am-6:00pm (Friday)
  • August 8: 10:00am-6:00pm (Saturday)
  • August 9: 10:00am-6:00pm (Sunday)
• Voter Registration for Early Voting:
  • Individuals who are not registered to vote cannot register and vote on the same day during the early voting period in the Primary. In order to vote during the early voting period, an individual will need to register to vote and enroll in a political party in person by noon of the previous day to be eligible to vote the next day.

Voter Registration Deadline

• August 10, Noon: Registration Deadline to Register to Vote and/or Join Party in Person
  • Last day (until 12 noon) to register to vote in the Primary.
  • Last day (until 12 noon) for unaffiliated voters to enroll in a political party to vote in the Primary. (The last date to transfer from one party to another to vote in the Primary was May 11, 2026.)
  • Only absentee ballot voting is available on this day.

August 11: Primary Election

• Voters will vote at their assigned district polling sites. Click here to find your voting district and polling location.
• Polls are open from 6AM to 8PM.
• Voters must provide identification to vote at the polling place. Acceptable forms of identification include: a driver’s license or other photo ID; U.S. Passport; a pre-printed form of ID, like a tax bill or utility bill, pay stub or bank statement; Social Security card or other government document that shows your name and address; a document that shows your name and signature (i.e. a credit card).
• Same-Day Voter Registration is not available for Primaries.

• Southbury Registrar of Voters Office is open Monday-Thursday 8:00am - 4:30pm
• Southbury Senior Services offers transportation for Southbury residents age 60+ and those with disabilities. If you need a ride to the polling place, please call 203-262-0652 to reserve the ride. Reservations must be made 2 business days in advance of the desired ride date, by 10:00 AM.
• Voters must provide identification to vote at the polling place. • NOTICE OF INTENT TO USE AN ELECTRONIC LIST: The Southbury Registrars of Voters plan to use an Electronic Poll Book List to check in voters at the 2026 Primary Election.
