The Town of Southbury is excited to announce that its Volunteer Appreciation Event this year will be held on September 7, 2025. Our honorees will be ALL of the wonderful townspeople within our community, with a special acknowledgement to Southbury’s First Responders. The Volunteer Appreciation Committee recognizes that many of our Southburians have gone above and beyond assisting their neighbors, and friends through tough times this past year and we feel that we would be remiss not to say Thank You to each and every one of our community members for the effort and kindness displayed.
Please join us to honor the kindness that Southbury’s first responders and residents have shown to each other during Southbury’s Volunteer Appreciation BBQ and Get-Together. This event is open to everyone who has given their time to help others no matter how great or how small. We truly are “A Town That Runs on Volunteers”.
As has become a time-honored tradition at this event, The Knight of Columbus will be serving the town and barbequing for us.
During this event, community members will have a chance to say ‘hello’ and network with other community members. We anticipate that there will be opportunities to chat and ‘schmooze’ with many members of the Towns boards and commissions as well.
This year we have decide to continue with our theme of COMMUNITY. With this in mind we are requesting that attendees help support those less fortunate than ourselves by bringing to the vent a non-perishable food item to be donated to the Southbury Food Bank and will be distributed by them.
The Event is scheduled for September 7, 2025, 1:00 PM at the Pavilion at Ballantine Park, Old Field Road.
The Event is free but advance registration is required. Please register via the Town’s Website www.southbury-ct.org/volunteerappreciation. This event is truly a town-wide event, therefore all Southburians are cordially invited to attend.
Please register by September 2, 2025.
For more information, please contact Michelle Rosen or Mary Korsu of the Volunteer Appreciation Committee through the Office of the First Selectman.
