The Town of Southbury is working with Southern Baptist Church Disaster Relief (SBCD) to head our disaster recovery efforts for private residents. SBCD started operating in Southbury today to assess damages and bring crews in to provide residents with flood recovery and mold mitigation efforts. This organization played a critical role in our tornado recovery effort in 2018. SBCD will help homeowners with free cleanup services such as:
- Removal of residual mud and water
- Carry-out of unsalvageable damaged property
- Tear-out of damaged building materials: carpeting, pads, sheetrock, sub-flooring, etc.
- Power-washing of damaged soiled areas
- Sanitation
