MARCH-APRIL 2022 NEWS

MESSAGE FROM P&R DIRECTOR

As we wind down from our 5 month long winter basketball programs, I want to take this opportunity to thank all of you that participated. Be it as a player, parent, spectator or coach, the program’s success can only be measured based on your experience. A special thank you to the non-profit Pomperaug Basketball Community for their commitment to the current and future needs of our recreational youth basketball program. And of course, to our dedicated volunteer coaches who invested countless hours at practices and games as well as creating practice plans and game strategies.

We had a total 545 participants, represented by 7 boys and girls travel teams, and 39 recreational teams serving boys and girls in grades 3-12. In addition, the Little Swishers basketball program for boys and girls in grade 1st and 2nd was enjoyed by over 75 eager learners. Our Shooting Stars program, for our youngest players, was enthusiastically received and sets the stage for continued success.

Thank you for another great season! We look forward to your continued support of and for your participation with Southbury Parks and Recreation.
