MESSAGE FROM P&R DIRECTOR
Hello everyone,
I know a lot of you are over the Winter and ready for Spring, so after three snow days in a row, let me try to offer a glimmer of hope. The birds are back! Yes, that unfamiliar sound of singing and chirping can be heard first thing in the morning again. My bird feeder is full of all types of birds! The days are getting longer and you can now enjoy the beautiful sunsets from the comfort of your home instead of your work desk. And in just 90 days we’ll be celebrating Memorial Day at our Family picnic after the 250th edition of our parade! We got this!
Thank-you to all of our instructors who keep us engaged in activities outside of the house this time of year. And thank-you in advance to all the sports leagues who are ready to get back on our fields - only time will be able to tell us when we can get back on them again. We appreciate your patience as we evaluate the field conditions once the weather warms up.

BIRD FEEDER WREATH MAKING WITH THE SOUTHBURY LAND TRUST

Thank you for joining us at our free program sponsored by the Southbury Land Trust. We provided space and the Land Trust provided the materials for 30 wreaths crafted by townspeople. We learned that various factors contribute to low food sources for our native birds this time of year and so we added unsalted peanuts, dried cranberries, and sprigs of native seeds to create festive and functional fast food stops for our feathered friends!
