Give your child a head start in developing essential coordination and footwork skills through basketball!
Back by popular demand, this class has been revamped by Varsity Head Boys Basketball Coach for Pomperaug High School, Shawn Mobilio, and designed for children ages 3-5. Through fun, structured activities, your child will learn to improve their footwork, agility, and hand-eye coordination while exploring the basics of basketball, such as dribbling and passing. With drills tailored to their developmental level, your child will boost their confidence and physical skills in a supportive, playful environment with an emphasis on movement and balance. Join us and watch your little one thrive on and off the court!
Participants will also be invited to a high school practice and be given an opportunity to play on the big courts with fans in the stands!
Parents/Guardians are encouraged to stay on-site and may be asked to participate with their toddlers during the program. Caregivers and children should dress in comfortable clothing with closed-toe shoes ready to move! (During winter months, please bring a change of shoes to allow full range of motion.)
Program is held in the multipurpose room of the Parks and Recreation building at 561 Main Street South, Southbury, CT 06488.
