Monday Concert Series
Town Hall Green, 501 Main Street South (NEW LOCATION!)
This summer's Monday evening concert series. Concerts are free and open to the public. Bring a lawn chair or a blanket. In case of rain, the concerts will be cancelled. All concerts will be held in a new location - next to the Southbury Town Hall. Park at 561 Main Street South, Pomperaug Elementary or at the lower parking lot of Town Hall.
July 12: 6:00-8:00 pm “'60s SATISFACTION”
‘60s Satisfaction is a band of pro musicians will have you on your feet singing and dancing from start to finish and leave you smiling at the end of the show! It's the perfect party band. The name says it all. You’ll be satisfied hearing your favorite 60’s tunes from all the great artists like The Beatles, The Stones, Santana, Credence, Sam Cooke, Steam, The Boxtops, Procol Harem, The Moody Blues, The Foundation, The Turtles, The Doors, The Animals, Cream, Roy Orbison, Wilson Pickett and many more! Tie-dye attire optional.
July 19: 6:00 – 8:00 pm “THE POTENTIALS"
The Potentials is a high energy, versatile, 5 piece cover that plays a variety of music from every genre/decade. Songs like, Rock and Roll Music, Day Tripper, Get Down Tonight, Boogie Oogie Oogie, to Sweet Home Alabama, Ventura Highway, Wagon Wheel and Tennessee Whiskey. Your ears will be drawn to the sweet melodic sounds of our 4 part harmonies, and your feet to the dance floor! We believe that there is nothing better than live music!
July 26: 6:00-8:00 pm “THE RAKES”
The Rakes are a band of 5 friends who have as much fun perfecting their songs as they do preforming them; and it shows. Exceptional vocals are at the forefront with solid backing musicianship that compliments rather than distracts. Covering a diverse selection of genre jumping music a Rakes gig is a guaranteed good time. At their core The Rakes are a countryish Americana band. But as you will quickly learn they defy the "country" label. Mixing classic rock, a little soul, a dash of blues, a "90's" block and even a little hip hop The Rakes exhibit broad appeal as they truly play something for just about everyone.
August 2: 6:00-8:00 "RUBBER CITY”
Rubber City draws its name from the rich heritage of Naugatuck, Connecticut’s once thriving rubber industry and is comprised mostly of musicians residing in the Naugatuck valley. With a dynamic blend of vocals, rhythm, and a 4-member horn section, the band covers bands such as Chicago, the Blues Brothers, Tower of Power, and many more. Since 2007, Rubber City has loudly and clearly made its presence known in the local music scene.
