The Pomperaug River Watershed Coalition (PRWC) is seeking nominations for the Dr. Marc Taylor Environmental Stewardship Award. Since the establishment of the Award, PRWC has presented it annually except for a brief Covid-19 hiatus.
As a part of our twenty-fifth anniversary celebration, the PRWC looks forward to reinstating our yearly recognition of outstanding individual environmental stewards.
The Award was established in 2015 to commemorate the legacy of Dr. Taylor. One of the founding members of PRWC, Dr. Taylor’s vision of and dedication to a healthy watershed for all continues to guide our organization.
Nominations will be accepted for individuals who have a similar commitment to the environment as Dr. Taylor did. Please be sure to include the nominee’s name and contact details.
A brief narrative about candidates for the Award should provide:
- Descriptions about how their volunteer work supports PRWC’s vision of community engagement to safeguard clean water and healthy habitats for all.
- Anecdotes detailing what makes them a “go to person” in the environmental or conservation arenas.
- Information about their role as a leader and collaborator to benefit the environment.
PRWC’s website, www.pomperaug.org, contains additional information about Dr. Taylor, our organization, the Award, nomination forms, and the selection process.
All nominations should be submitted to Pomperaug River Watershed Coalition, 39 Sherman Hill Road, Suite C-103, Woodbury, CT 06798. Electronic submissions can be directed to info@pomperaug.org with “Award Nomination” in the subject line.
Submissions must be received by May 2, 2025.
The Award will be presented at the PRWC’s Silver Soirée. This event will be held in Southbury on Sunday, June 22, 2025, to celebrate PRWC’s dedication to protecting, sustaining, and restoring water resources. The Pomperaug River Watershed Coalition (PRWC) is a non-profit watershed conservation organization serving the towns of Woodbury, Southbury, and Bethlehem and surrounding areas, which uses science to understand how our human activity impacts the quality and quantity of water in our rivers and underground aquifers. PRWC shares that understanding with the community and finds tangible ways to take care of our shared water resources.
