The storm bought heavy rains and sustained high winds, with hazard gusts as high as 60 mph across our town and region. These winds have taken down trees and poles, block roads and cause significant damage and power outages.
We have been in communication with our local and state partners as well as the utility companies in preparation for this storm. Our public safety agencies are staffed and responding to incidents as needed. Eversource crews are working in town. If you do not have power, please report the outage to Eversource directly.
If you are traveling, please be aware of road closures and obey all detours, cones and caution tape.
Please be aware of the weather conditions where you are and take the proper precautions. We are expecting temperatures to drop sharply this afternoon and will cause hazardous traveling conditions. Please make necessary preparations now.
