Southbury Celebration Committee is looking for local musical talent and Food trucks / food vendors for this year's Southbury Celebration on Saturday, October 1, 2022. The 24th Annual Southbury Celebration featuring food, music, community fellowship and fireworks is co-sponsored by the Town of Southbury and the Southbury Training School and is held at beautiful Lake Stibbs at the Southbury Training School on Route 172 in Southbury. The rain date is Sunday, October 2nd.
“Southbury Celebration Committee is excited to host local area musical talent to perform before their family, friends, and community,” stated Co-chair Brian M. Jones. The Committee invites performers of all ages to submit music with an intergenerational appeal and to focus mostly on very recognizable cover songs. Music of all genres are welcomed (i.e.: Pop; Folk; Rock; Jazz; Standards; Broadway; etc.).
Performers may use live accompaniment or karaoke tracks. Due to size and time restrictions, we encourage groups to limit their group size to between 1 to 5 performers. Please submit YouTube links or upload a video file to: https://southbury-ct.org/sbycelebration-music. Early submissions greatly appreciated. The deadline for submission is Sunday, August 28, 2022.
The Committee will review all submissions and choose the performers that fit the spirit of the event. Performers will be selected by Committee taking into consideration entertainment factor and available space on the program. They will be allocated 5 to 20 minutes to perform. The performers chosen will have the experience to perform in front of thousands from their community.
Food trucks, commercial food vendors, community groups and organizations can immediately apply to be a food vendor. Limited spaces are available. Food vendor applications are available online at the Town of Southbury web site under Southbury Celebration Committee https://www.southbury-ct.org/sbycelebration.

The 2022 event layout has been re-configured to permit more social distancing on the field. In addition, food vendor locations and their customer lines are being structured to permit greater social distancing. People have the option to watch the fireworks from their car on the Great Lawn or can bring their own lawn chairs and blankets for view from the Lake Stibbs field.
People are encouraged to attend early to hear the music, visit with friends, enjoy the food selections / food trucks, or enjoy their own picnic dinner and ultimately watch a spectacular firework show.
