Beginning on Monday, June 1st, the Southbury Public Library will be offering Pickup Window Service. The service is for Southbury residents with a valid library card, by appointment only. Patrons can call the library to ask for materials and set up an appointment. Patrons may continue to place holds and will be notified when the holds are available for pick up. Patrons can borrow 5 items per person. Pick up for yourself, your whole family or have a designee pick up your items for you.
Staff will check out the items and patrons will be able to pick them up from a table located outside the Pickup Window adjacent to the Main Entrance. When arriving, simply show your library card to receive and take your items for a no contact exchange. Designees who are picking up books with someone else’s permission can show their license or library card or the book borrower’s library card.
Items may only be returned using the usual outdoor book return slots. Returned items will be quarantined for several days before they can be checked out to another patron. To make an appointment, call the library at 203-262-0626 and press extension 6 for Pickup Window Service.
