Friday, October 9, 2026 from 2-3:30pm in the Kingsley Room, join us for an author talk from local author Terry Iten.
Join local author, Terry Iten, as she speaks about the writing of her first book, Wolfgang and Anna, and read segments of their immigrant love story. They crossed oceans to come to America for the opportunity to build better lives, they met and fell in love. Wars, the Great Depression, Prohibition, poverty and heartbreak did not stop them from moving forward with hope and grit. Love sustained them through it all. This is a triumphant story of human hardship; a compelling immigrant story of courage, joy, commitment and survival.
Come and ask questions and join in a discussion about family and survival through hard times. Signed copies of her book will be available for purchase.
Terry grew up in Ukiah, California. She discovered her passion for writing after retirement. The impact of her grandparents was central to her life and she was drawn to discovering and writing about their journey. Osher Lifetime Learning Institute at the UCONN Waterbury, CT campus offered a writing course entitled, Write Your Own Story. From that, her first novel was born.
