Southbury’s Annual Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony will take place on Monday, May 25 with kickoff at 11:00am sharp. The parade route will begin at the corner of Depot Hill Road and Main Street South. It will continue down Main Street South and end at the Veterans Memorial Park at which time the Ceremony will take place. All are invited to attend.
Main Street South between Depot Hill Rd and the Senior Center will be closed to traffic during the parade.
Continue the celebration on the other side of our building for the Memorial Day Picnic immediately following the ceremony running until 2:30pm. Southbury Parks and Recreation is providing live music by Kevin and the Hammers, face painting, and an inflated obstacle course called the Radical Run! Kids can also make their own tricorn hats to join in the 250th fun! There is no charge for the Family Day Picnic activities. Boy Scout Troop 1607 will be selling hotdogs, hamburgers, chips, and drinks. Veterans will receive free food!
Cancellation procedures: If the parade and picnic are cancelled, the ceremony will take place at 11:00am inside the Senior Center/Parks & Recreation Building located at 561 Main Street South. Any cancellation alerts will be posted on the Southbury Parks & Recreation's home page: southburyct.myrec.com.
