4/3/2023 - Rare and Remarkable Animals in Connecticut on May 16, 2023

The Southbury Public Library invites interested teens in Grades 6-12 to join us for our upcoming Rare and Remarkable Animals in Connecticut talk with the White Memorial Conservation Center on Tuesday, May 16, 2023 from 6:00pm - 7:00pm in the Kingsley Room of the Southbury Public Library.

Many people do not realize that there are endangered species even here in CT! Join the White Memorial Conservation Center for a discussion on what local species are considered in peril, why they’re each important, and what we can do to help them. We'll also hear success stories of animals coming back from the brink of extinction due to our conservation efforts. Plus, you’ll get to meet a couple of live creatures up close and personal, and play some fun interactive games!

Learn more and register on the library’s website at www.southburylibrary.org/events. This event is sponsored by the Friends of the Southbury Public Library, free, and open to residents of any town in Grades 6-12.

About the White Memorial Conservation Center: The White Memorial Conservation Center (WMCC) is an environmental education center and nature museum located in the heart of the 4,000-acre White Memorial Foundation in the hills of northwestern Connecticut. The WMCC provides year-round environmental education programs for all ages that inspire understanding, appreciation, and respect for the natural world.
