8/17/2021 - Southbury Public Library Opens Applications for Teen Advisory Board

The Southbury Public Library is now taking applications for teens in Grades 6-12 for the library’s Teen Advisory Board.

We are looking for creative, energetic volunteers in Grades 6-12 who are interested in making a difference at the Southbury Public Library! Teen Advisory Board (TAB) members can directly influence our teen book & AV collections, teen programming and events, and other teen services. Each monthly meeting opens with a discussion about ideas for programs, materials, and more and closes out with some special volunteer projects. Each meeting (along with any potential project hours outside of monthly meetings) counts towards volunteer hours.

If you are interested in applying to be considered as a TAB member, please fill out the application form on our website at www.southburylibrary.org/tab. Applications are considered on an ongoing, rolling basis.

Our next TAB meeting is Tuesday, September 28, 2021 from 6-7pm in the Tutor Corner of the second floor of the Southbury Public Library. In order to attend, you must have applied to TAB and have been accepted. Masks are required during this program as they are throughout the building. We are hoping to have this program in person, but in person programming is dependent on the current COVID-19 situation and may move online if needed.

Teen Advisory Board is sponsored by the Friends of the Southbury Public Library. The Teen Advisory Board is open to residents of any town who are in Grades 6-12 who have a relationship with the Southbury Public Library and are interested in making a difference there.
