The Gloria Cachion Gallery at the Southbury Public Library will host artist Anita Gregorski, from Wednesday, June 2nd, 2021 through Tuesday, June 29th, 2021.
Anita has lived in Connecticut all her life, currently in Middlebury. Her art reflects her love of the area and is expressed in Watercolor, Oil and Acrylic. Local barns and fences, quaint neighborhood homes, flowers from her gardens, New England landscapes, area store fronts, ocean, water and winter scenes are among her artworks on display. Her paintings successfully reflect the colors and atmosphere that are so much a part of this landscape. Anita says, “I like to find that bit of nostalgia, record that weathered look, catch the light on fresh fallen snow and the new bloom on the flower from my garden. A paint brush and a few props and a painting gets created. Some days I wrestle with the paint brush and other days I hang onto the brush as the painting paints itself.”
Anita has also has won numerous awards, and her work has been accepted in many Juried Art shows including the Salmangundi Club National Show (NY City) Northeast Watercolor Society National Show, The Art of New England National Show in Lyme, Academic Artist National Exhibit, The Connecticut Watercolor Society Shows, and The Connecticut Women’s Artists. Anita is an active part of many art organizations, serving as officer, committee chairman and director. She has been a judge and member of the selection committee for numerous competitive award shows. She is, and an active member of, Watertown Art League and SCAN.
Anita received her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Connecticut.
Anita’s work is also available from, Center Frame & Art in West Hartford, Newtown Art and Frame, Woodbury Diner, LaSalles in Canton, and local art shows and at her studio and at www.anitagregorski.com.
