On Saturday, October 5, 2019 from 1-2pm, in Kingsley Room, join us for this program about academic architecture throughout the United States.
Armed with only a camera, a sense of humor and a host of frequent flyer miles, Mathew Duman embarked on a “grotesque safari," traveling to 10 universities around the country to photograph the grotesques and gargoyles roosting on their academic buildings.
Local photographer and graphic designer Mathew Duman presents a selection of his architectural findings in this illustrated lecture, giving you a taste of the variety of ornament, history and humor campuses such as Yale University and Trinity College have to offer. More of his work can be found in his published books.
Like all Southbury Public Library programs, this presentation is free to attend and open to anyone regardless of town of residency. Space is limited and registration is required. Please call 203-262-0626 ext. 130 to register. This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Southbury Public Library.
