The Southbury Public Library is hosting an Author Talk with #1 New York Times Bestselling Author Dan Gemeinhart on Wednesday, November 18, 2026 from 6:30-7:30pm.
Join us for this author talk with #1 New York Times bestselling middle-grade author Dan Gemeinhart! He'll discuss stories, what made him become an author, his long path to publication, and background on some of his acclaimed novels. Followed by a Q&A session and book signing. Books will not be for sale at this event, so we encourage people to bring their own copies. This talk is aimed at a late elementary and middle school audience, but all ages are invited to attend.
Dan Gemeinhart’s books include The Midnight Children, a #1 New York Times bestseller and The Remarkable Journey of Coyote Sunrise, a 2022 Intermediate Nutmeg Nominee, as well as 2025’s Busted, Some Kind of Courage, Coyote Lost and Found, The Honest Truth, Good Dog, and Scar Island.
Books will be for sale during this event from the Little Fox Bookshop with cash or card (no checks) accepted as payment.
About the author: Dan Gemeinhart lives in a small town smack dab in the middle of Washington state with his wife and three young daughters. He was lucky and grateful to be a teacher-librarian in an elementary school for thirteen years, where he got to share awesome books with awesome kids. He loves camping, cooking, and traveling. He also plays guitar (badly) and reads (constantly). His house is always a mess. He is really pretty darn happy.
This event is free, open to residents of any town, and open to all ages. Registration is optional, but is requested to help the library plan. Register at southburylibrary.org/1126talk or by calling 203-262-0626 ext. 2. This event is sponsored by the Friends of the Southbury Public Library.
