The Gloria Cachion Gallery at the Southbury Public Library will showcase fine arts photography by town resident Laura Modlin from Wednesday, September 2, 2026 through Tuesday, September 29, 2026.
The solo photography exhibit features a stunning collection of images showcasing the Southbury sky and beyond. It explores a frontier between the known and unknown as a vibrant, ever-changing interplay of light and colors drawing us in. This collection serves as a reminder that each of our potential is limitless – like the sky above.
The exhibit highlights how looking to the horizon can actively calm the brain, reduce daily stress, and inspire deep creative thought. It connects us to something much bigger than ourselves.
“I was the kid staring out the window at the sky during long car trips,” Laura said “and I guess that fascination stayed with me.”
These days, Laura is a professional photographer, award-winning journalist, radio broadcaster and writer of her first book.
