On Thursday, November 13, 2025 from 2-3:30pm on Zoom and streamed to our Kingsley Room, join us for a virtual program and learn more about the “golden age of television”.
Join us as we explore the “Golden Age of Television” from the end of the 1940’s to the end of the 1950’s. It was a time of increased television ownership, and a wide variety of programs. This presentation will look at the forces that made this “golden age” such an intriguing chapter in TV history and why it was so short-lived (including brief examinations of blacklisting and the TV quiz show scandals).
Brian Rose is a professor emeritus at Fordham University. He’s written several books on television history and cultural programming, and conducted more than a hundred Q&A’s with leading directors, actors, and writers for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences, the Screen Actors Guild, the British Academy of Film and Television Arts, and the Directors Guild of America.
