At their Regular Meeting on Wednesday, July 16th 2025, the Southbury Inland Wetlands Commission took the following actions:

APPROVED WITH CONDITIONS AND PENDING FINAL RESOLUTION:

Application# 1759: 21 River Trail, Southbury, CT 06488. Ms. Irina Morozova (Owner/Applicant). Seeking approval for beneficial maintenance of the property. Remove 4 dead trees to be cut to the ground with stump left in place. Remove accumulated pollutants including burnt wood and scattered household waste. Clear overgrown vegetation and plant new plantings for soil stabilization along with native vegetation in the wetlands area. Install 200 feet of silt fence along the edge of the wetlands for erosion control. Apply mulch over restored path and apply straw over the exposed soil areas on the hillside of the property.

APPROVED WITH CONDITIONS AND PENDING FINAL RESOLUTION:

Application# F-2027: 278 Southford Road, Southbury, CT 06488. Mr. Michael Pierce (Owner/Applicant). Seeking approval to repair and remediate property following August 2024 floods to reset permitted footbridge, line brook with boulder rock to prevent further erosion. Remove debris from the other side of the brook. Replace fill dirt and top soil and plant grass. Additionally build new shed and greenhouse upon zoning approval.

APPROVED WITH CONDITIONS AND PENDING FINAL RESOLUTION:

Application# 1757: 243 Bucks Hill Road, Southbury, CT 06488. Mr. Keith Yager (Applicant/Owner). Seeking approval for the removal of eight dead trees for safety concerns and prevent damage to the electric service. Site plan provided with this application. Pending site plan.
