Inland Wetlands Commission
At their Regular Meeting on Tuesday, April 8th, 2025, the Southbury Inland Wetlands Commission took the following actions:
APPROVED WITH CONDITIONS AND PENDING FINAL RESOLUTION:
Application# 1752: 453 Old Woodbury Road, Southbury CT 06488. Southbury Land Trust (Applicant). Mr. Patrick Monahan, Stewardship representing SLT. Approved to build a six car gravel parking area and construct new trail to a pond. The trail will require boardwalks and a bridge to reach a plane observation platform on the pond. Site plan provided with this application.
APPROVED WITH CONDITIONS AND PENDING FINAL RESOLUTION:
Application# 1753: 207 Bagley Road & 209 Bagley Road, Southbury CT 06288. Mr. Joshua Smith and Mr. Louis Cacace respectively (Applicants/Owners). The August 2024 flood washed out the driveway. A temporary repair was completed under Application# F-2004. Owners are approved to complete repair of the common driveway culvert with a more proper and permanent fix taking into account the 9/18/24 wetlands meeting notes. Site plan provided with this application.
APPROVED WITH CONDITIONS AND PENDING FINAL RESOLUTION:
Application# 1754: 60 Sleepy Hollow Road, Southbury CT 06288. Mr. Ryan K. Delp (Applicant/Owner). Currently a single story structure, owners were granted a Variance from the Zoning Board of Appeals to build a proposed one bedroom, two story framed structure on a new concrete basement foundation. Proposed foundation will retain original footprint of the existing structure. A wheel chair ramp with covered wheelchair decking is proposed which does not encroach on the minimum setbacks. The Inland-Wetlands Commission approved to install silt fence along the bank of Lee Brook watercourse that borders to the west and south of the property. Silt fencing will be installed to surround the stockpiles and prevent soil erosion. Site plan provided with this application.
APPROVED WITH CONDITIONS AND PENDING FINAL RESOLUTION:
Application# F-2025: 294 Jeremy Swamp Road, Southbury CT 06288. Mr. & Mrs. Scott and Erica Meyer (Applicants/Owners). Approved for installation of a small retaining wall with boulders by the side of the house; Add fill only between the bank and the house; Install 6 inches of rip-rap rock on sides of the culvert to protect from further erosion; And plant grass on top-soil. Site plan provided at this meeting.
