At their Special Meeting on Thursday, July 2, 2026, the Southbury Inland Wetlands Commission took the following actions:

On June 17, 2026, an anonymous complaint alleging unpermitted activities within a watercourse was received by Deandra Nevin, Land Use Enforcement Officer. A site visit was conducted on June 23, 2026, with observations made from a shared driveway. During the visit, evidence was observed of disturbance to the storm water channel, including approximately 300 ± feet of the watercourse that had been excavated and altered from its natural condition, with no soil erosion or sediment controls in place. As a result of these findings, a Cease and Desist Order was issued to the property owners on June 24, 2026.
Commissioner Hornbecker made the motion to uplift the cease and desist pending erosion control plan suitable to staff and application submitted. Commissioner Slywka seconded the motion. All were in favor. Motion passes.
