Inland Wetlands Commission
At their Regular Meeting on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, the Southbury Inland Wetlands Commission took the following actions:
APPROVED WITH CONDITIONS AND PENDING FINAL RESOLUTION:
1. Commissioner Hornbecker made the motion to approve the application with conditions. Commissioner Lesch seconded the motion. All were in favor. Motion passes.
Application #: 1774: 465 Heritage Road Suite 1 Southbury, CT 06488- Heritage Village Masters Association / Thomas Adamski (Owner/Applicant). MBL 28-77-H1,4. Application seeking to restore one hundred (100) feet swale to original dimensions by removing rip rap, silt, and vegetation in the swale. The rip rap will be replaced. The work will be completed in a dry month with a dry forecast. A small amount of organic material will be removed by hand in the pond to allow good flow. The area to be cleared is six by six (6x6) feet.
2. Commissioner Slywka made the motion to approve the application with conditions. Commissioner Hoyt seconded the motion. All were in favor. Motion passes.
Application #: 1775: 185 E Flat Hill Rd. Southbury, CT 06488 - National Audubon Society Inc. at the Bent of the River Center / Glen Somogie (Owner/Applicant). MBL 18-92-9. Application seeking to restore Cascade Brook historic channel through removal of existing walls on left and right of stream, widening brook opening and installing stone material, constructing natural field stone walls, installation of two 36 inch diameter corrugated drainage pipes, installation of new culvert with rip rap rock.
