12/7/2024 - Holiday Celebration

BE THE LIGHT! We look forward to seeing you at the 25th Annual Holiday Celebration.

Activities taking place include a community sing-along, lighting of the Holiday Tree, illuminating Dreidel and Kinara, Santa arriving on a fire truck, decorated winter scenes for photo opportunities, free crafts and activities, free hot cocoa & sweets, and new this year, a food truck offering food for purchase.

This is a free event. It will take place at Firehouse and the Town Hall Green.

  • 3:00pm-4:00pm, inside the Firehouse: Sensory Friendly activities for those who require accommodations.
  • 3:00pm-6:00pm, outside, Town Hall parking lot: Food truck: grilled cheese, chili, hot dogs, burger soup and coffee available for purchase.
  • 4:00pm-6:45pm, inside the Firehouse: Activities for all: cookie decorating, games, crafts and more.
  • 5:00pm, outside, Town Hall parking lot: Free hot cocoa and sweets, a community sing-along, followed by a countdown to illumination.
  • Around 5:30pm, outside, Town Hall parking lot: Santa arrives on the fire truck.
  • Around 5:45pm-7:00pm, inside the Firehouse: Santa and his elf available for photos. There may be a surprise visit from the Grinch - keep your eyes peeled!

Parking will be available at:

  • Town Hall's lower parking lot, Parks and Recreation's parking lot (entrance at 561 Main Street South)
  • Pomperaug Elementary School's parking lot (607 Main Street South)
  • Rochambeau Middle School's parking lot (100 Peter Rd)

There will be no parking at Town Hall’s upper parking lot or Firehouse’s parking lot. There will be a designated drop-off area at Town Hall's lower level parking lot, monitored by employees.
