11/23/2023 - Southbury Turkey Trot Presented by Southbury Women's Club Registration in person: Wednesday, November 22, 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Place: REVV Fitness Club parking lot, 730 Main Street South. The Southbury Women’s Club (SWC) is hosting its 13th annual Turkey Trot, a USATF-certified 5K run/walk and Kid’s Fun Run, on Thursday, November 23rd. This Thanksgiving Day tradition enables family and friends to support local community organizations while starting the day in a healthy way by participating in a 5K and Kids Fun Run. The race will benefit the Southbury Food Bank, Fuel Bank, and Needy Fund. Since the inception of the Southbury Turkey Trot, the SWC has donated over $350,000 to local charities. The event will be held at Revv Fitness Club, 730 Main Street South, starting at 8 a.m. with a Kid’s Fun Run. The 5K race begins at 8:30 a.m. on the Green on Main Street. This year’s Kids’ Fun Run will benefit Children2Children, a non-profit organization that distributes clothing and shoes to children in need locally and in third-world countries. Runners, walkers and stroller pushers of all ages are welcome. The registration fee is $30 for the 5K and $10 for the Kid’s Fun Run. Registration (online) ends Tuesday, November 21st at 11:59 p.m. Register early as the race is limited to 2,500 participants! Prizes will go to the top three male and female finishers overall and the top two male and female finishers in nine age categories. Team prizes will also be awarded. Due to global supply chain challenges, race shirts have been pre-ordered to ensure on-time arrival. The first 1,200 registered will receive a long-sleeve performance tee shirt.
