5/6/2023 - Art in the Park

Featuring crafts and recreational activities from Southbury Parks and Recreation’s Programs and arts and crafts from the Arts and Culture Subcommittee of the Southbury Economic Development Commission

Learn a new technique while you create your own art or try your hand at a free craft project, then participate in a physical sport! There will be free raffle drawings for prizes, free participation in crafts and activities, and food trucks on site to purchase food for a quick lunch. Food trucks include Lucky’s World Famous Hot Dogs and Szabo's Seafood!

The Arts and Culture Subcommittee will offer fun art projects and activities suitable for all ages featuring a community doodle project, tissue paper stained glass craft (for Mother's Day), and brief painting tutorials on easels and canvases.

Southbury Parks and Recreation’s recreation activities will feature stations from our in-house programs for children and adults. Activity stations will vary for the appropriate age/grade level and may include participating in our Toddler Sports Programs (Shooting Stars, Kicking Stars, and Mini Stars), Tiny Tots Clubhouse projects for ages 3-5, Arts and Motion movement/STEM projects for grades K-6, and an all ages painting class demo.

In case of rain, the event will take place in Southbury Parks and Recreation Building.
