8/4/2017 - Insects and Their Amazing Stories Presentation

The Southbury Garden Club will present a program called “Insects and Their Amazing Stories” by noted children’s author John Himmelman on Friday, August 4th at 1:00 p.m. at the Southbury Public Library.

This presentation will give us some insight into the remarkable adaptations these creatures have developed in order to survive. Hear the stories of dragonflies and bumblebees; ladybugs and dung beetles. Learn the difference between a bee and a wasp - who has the worst sting? ... and much more.

John Himmelman is an author/illustrator of over 80 books for children and books for grown up kids on various nature topics. He is a naturalist, involved in many organizations where he gives lectures and leads trips in search of exciting flora and fauna.

The hour long program will begin at 1:00 p.m. Interested local residents are invited to attend. Advance reservations are suggested and seating is limited. For full details, please contact Beth Brink on 203-262-8033.
