12/5/2026 - Winter Wonder Hike A crisp winter day is still good for going on a hike out in the wonderful natural wilderness at the Bent. Join Allison Middlemass, Coordinator of Community Conservation Programs, on a winter wonder hike! We will have binoculars for folks to use so we can see birds like the White-breasted Nuthatch, Northern Cardinal, Downy Woodpecker, Dark-eyed Junco, and many more. We will walk along our river trail, getting great views of the Pomperaug River that gives the Bent its namesake. Learn more about the work Audubon does to help birds and the places they need today and tomorrow. On the morning of the hike, we will meet in the visitor parking lot at 11 AM. Pre-registration is required (space is limited). Accessible bathroom on site.
