11/1/2026 - Holiday Gift Program until December 7, 2026 Southbury's Annual Holiday Gift Program kicks off its 49th year! Southbury Helping Hands (formerly Southbury Needy Fund) is coordinating presents, including new clothing, toys, books, sports equipment, arts & crafts and more for children from families utilizing Southbury's Social Services. There are three meaningful ways to help: make a monetary donation, sponsor a child, or purchase items from their Amazon Wish List. Monetary donations are needed to purchase a new winter coat and boots for each child, as well as other gifts that fulfill holiday wishes. These can be made through their website at www.southburyhelpinghands.org or mailed to PO Box 72, Southbury, CT 06488. Sponsored children receive essential clothing, including two outfits, sleepwear, a warm top such as a sweatshirt or sweater, underwear, socks, a winter hat, and gloves or mittens. Sponsors may also include additional gifts to make the season extra special. Email southburyhelpinghands@gmail.com to sponsor a child and receive clothing sizes and preferences so that you can shop with confidence. The online Wish List at Amazon has carefully selected items that meet the needs and wishes of individual children on the list. Donors can browse the selections, choose gifts they would enjoy shopping for, and know that their purchases are truly needed and wanted by a local child. Purchases will be shipped directly to Southbury Helping Hands. Click to order online. Items can also be dropped off at the Southbury Police Station located at 421 Main Street South through the first week in December. Southbury Helping Hands appreciates your support in helping make the holidays brighter for our neighbors. ### Event: Holiday Gift Program until December 7, 2026 Event Organizers/Contact: Southbury Helping Hands (formerly Southbury Needy Fund) | https://www.southburyhelpinghands.org | southburyhelpinghands@gmail.com Archives
