Vincent van Gogh was born on March 30, 1853, in Groot-Zundert, Netherlands. Van Gogh was a post-impressionist painter whose work, notable for its beauty, emotion and color, highly influenced 20th century art. He struggled with mental illness, and remained poor and virtually unknown throughout his life. Van Gogh died in France on July 29, 1890, at age 37, from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Michael Norris, of Armchair Art Tours will present a program of Mr. Norris, who received his BA in classics from the University of California at San Diego and his MA in classics and Ph.D. in art history at the University of California at Santa Barbara, will introduce us to some paintings especially those of the Metropolitan Museum of Art where Norris worked for twenty years.

Light refreshments will be served following the presentation. There is limited seating so please RSVP by calling 203-707-0710.
