7/29/2019 - Southbury Announces Volunteer Appreciation Event and Calls for Nominations

The Town of Southbury will be honoring all those who provide voluntary service to our residents during its volunteer BBQ and Awards ceremony. This event is open to everyone who gives their time to make our town the “Town that runs on Volunteers”. During this social event, volunteers from dozens of groups will have a chance to network with other volunteers and meet members of the Town boards and commissions. Various honors will be presented during the award ceremony.

This year’s theme is Past-Present-Future and will include Town Trivia, chance to try Disc Golf and a special exhibit.

The event is scheduled for September 8, 2019, 1:30 PM at the Pavilion at Ballantine Park, Old Field Road. Registration is required and can be done at www.southbury-ct.org/volunteerappreciation. This event is truly a town-wide event, so everyone who performs voluntary service is cordially invited to attend.

Nominations are requested for Volunteer Service.

The Town of Southbury is seeking nominations for outstanding volunteers providing service in the Town. Volunteers are a vital resource to the “Town the runs on Volunteers”, and the Town wants to honor all those giving service. Groups are encouraged to nominate those members giving service, who go “above and beyond”. The Volunteer Appreciation Committee wants to make sure that everyone is personally thanked for their service, so each volunteer attending the BBQ and Awards ceremony will receive recognition for their service.

Nominations for special awards can be easily made by going to www.southbury-ct.org/volunteerappreciation. All nominations will be given consideration and everyone nominated will receive recognition by the Town

Please make sure you include contact information for the person(s) you nominate so they may be notified of the nomination.

Nominations will close on August 23, 2019, so please do not hesitate.
