8/4/2022 - Black Bears in Connecticut Presentation

The presentation has been rescheduled to August 4, 2022.

On Thursday, July 14th, 2022 from 7-8pm on Zoom and streamed to the Kingsley Room, join us for a virtual program and learn more about black bears in Connecticut.

We explore the natural history of black bears in Connecticut, as well as their habitat, diet, behavior, reproduction and current research efforts. We will also hear practical recommendations for optimum coexistence with our black bear population.

Paul Colburn is a 2015 graduate of the Master Wildlife Conservationist Program (MWCP) and a certified Master Wildlife Conservationist (MWC). The MWCP is a Connecticut Department of Energy & Environmental Protection (DEEP) adult education program that trains volunteers in the fields of wildlife management, natural history and interpretation.

Like all Southbury Public Library programs, this program is free to attend and open to anyone regardless of town of residency. The Rutledge Summer Series was made possible by the Charles H. and Ella Emery Rutledge Fund. This program is being run in partnership with Southbury Animal Control. Registration is required. Zoom invitation links will be sent via email on the day of the program.
