10/7/2016 - Town Clerk: Absentee Ballots are Available for the Presidential Election

Absentee ballots are available at the Southbury Town Clerk’s Office for the November 8, 2016, Presidential Election. Registered electors of the Town of Southbury are eligible to vote in this election.

Please remember that obtaining an absentee ballot is a two- step process; first, you must complete an application and it must be verified by this office; and then, an absentee ballot is issued. Absentee ballots must be mailed to the applicant or may be given only to the applicant in person. Ballots must be returned to this office before the close of polls, 8:00 p.m., on November 8, 2016.

Application forms can be picked up in person by anyone or can also be downloaded from the Town of Southbury website at www.southbury-ct.org/absenteeballots. The application can be faxed at 203-264-9762, but the original signed application must be sent to us, at the address below, in order for the ballot to be counted. Ballots will be sent out when the faxed application is received, but again cannot be counted if we don’t have the original signed application.

The Town Clerk’s office is located in the Southbury Town Hall, 501 Main Street South, Southbury, CT 06488 and is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday thru Friday and we will be open for issuing absentee ballots on Saturday, November 5, from 9:00a.m. to 11:00a.m.; phone 203-262-0657.
