The Gloria Cachion Gallery at the Southbury Public Library will host artist Janet Newman, from Tuesday, August 3, 2021 through Monday, August 30th, 2021.
For over twenty years Janet has worked with an expanding color palette on living canvases and has achieved widespread recognition as a make-up artist in New York City. Living in the Berkshires she is inspired by nature and the Divine to create beautiful art that comes from the heart.
Painting, collage or any medium she uses, she wants people to experience the energy, aliveness, and fun that’s created with color. In nature and the natural world, the colors can be breathtaking. Many people are afraid of color, but would benefit greatly from the joy and healing it could bring if they would incorporate it more into their life. Her intention is to ignite a happy, joyous feeling to viewers that will inspire them to use more color in their lives.
For the past fourteen years Janet has been doing Solo & Group Art Shows monthly in the Berkshires, Connecticut, New York City, and recently in Mishkan Museum of Art in Israel. She does special paintings and projects and commissions for clients, corporations and the public.
Participating in numerous Art Shows Janet has been honored to win First Prize, Honorable Mention, and People’s Choice awards while among other wonderful accomplished artists in Connecticut and the Berkshires.
Janet goes on to say, “I will continue to paint and be inspired with varied subjects while exploring different moods, styles, colors, and media in my evolution of Art Creations.”
The exhibit will be open during regular library hours which are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9:30am to 5:30pm, Tuesday and Thursday 9:30am to 9:00pm and Saturdays 9:30am to 4:00pm. The exhibit will also be online too as a virtual gallery.
