9/26/2017 - Ancestors Road Show on October 14, 2017

October is Family History Month and the Southbury Public Library will be hosting an Ancestors Road Show on Saturday, October 14th between 10-2pm in the Kingsley meeting room. The Connecticut Professional Genealogist Council will have five genealogists that will offer a 25 minute free consultation. Advanced registration is required for any half an hour slot between 10 to 2pm.

The five genealogists consulting are: Nora Galvin, Certified Genealogist, of New Haven, an expert in Irish research and DNA; Dr. Robert L. Rafford, 2013 researcher for Jason Sudeikis on the TV show “Who Do You Think You Are” and the Municipal Historian of Middlebury; Harlan Jessup of Newtown; Edwin W. Strickland II of New Britain and Penny Hartzell of Woodbury. Take this opportunity to bring a puzzling genealogical question to a professional for advice.

Sponsored by the Janet Mann Genealogy Gift Fund, the Ancestors Road Show fee goes into the Donna Holt Siemiatkoski Acquisition Fund which supports Connecticut's libraries and societies holding genealogical collections.

This program is free and open to the public.

Advanced registration is required. Please call the Southbury Public Library at 203-262-0626 ext. 130.
