8/17/2017 - The College Essay: Making Your First Impression Count on September 23, 2017

Writing Workshop led by Chuck Jones at the Southbury Public Library

The Southbury Public Library is pleased partner with experienced educator and tutor, Chuck Jones for a free, one-hour workshop.

Rising seniors, other interested high schoolers, and their parents will receive an overview of the college application process: from brainstorming students’ attention-getting essays to revising for clarity and maximum impact. We will also address supplemental essays that different colleges require. Please feel free to bring a draft of your essay to the workshop.

Chuck Jones has been an educator for over 40 years, first as a classroom teacher (English, literature, writing) and then as a tutor (SAT/ACT test prep, writing, reading, and organizational strategies). As the founder of Support For Success Tutoring and Test Prep, Chuck has helped hundreds of students prepare and refine their college essays to make the best impression on college admission officers.
