The Paparazzo brothers had a vision upon experiencing the foothills in Southbury, Ct. They decided to build an aesthetically pleasing adult community and named it Heritage Village. The Village presented varied social, cultural and recreational interests for its residents as it does today.
Many people who have come to HV enjoy their lives nestled in the Connecticut countryside. It is a haven and a sanctuary for most. The Village is unique in its environment, breathtaking in all seasons, congenial and socially motivating in its many creative venues. One is offered convenience, serenity, security and the pleasantries of small town U.S.A.
Heritage Village’s Archives Committee is proud to present the character, enthusiasm and responsibility of HV’s residents and staff whose love for their community still shines after 50 years.
Each of the framed works in the exhibit give the viewer a glimpse of: the Village during its initial years, its unique design and landscape, the daily interests of its residents, a haven for some well known celebrities. While the history of its many buildings shed light onto the importance the previous owners played in the lives of the many residents of Southbury.
The cultural, social and economic growth in Heritage Village along with the redefining of government issues and its compatibility within the town of Southbury flourishes today.
The exhibit will be open during regular library hours which are Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9:30 A.M. to 5:30 P.M., Tuesday and Thursday from 9:30 A.M. to 9 P,M., Saturday from 9:30 A.M. to 4 P.M. and Sunday from 12P.M. to 5 P.M.
