Songbirds of the Northeast with Naturalist John Root
The Southbury Library will host naturalist John Root on Tuesday, February 2nd at 6:30pm in the Kingsley room for a PowerPoint presentation featuring both photographs and recordings of our region’s songbirds. The role of song in these birds' lives as well as their diet, social behavior, and other adaptations for survival will be discussed. Participants will also learn how to provide attractive habitat for songbirds. Questions and comments will be welcome throughout the presentation.
This event will coincide with the 2015 National Audubon Photography Awards exhibit in the Gloria Cachion Art Gallery during the month of February. In addition, the exhibit will also feature Al Erickson’s bird photography.
The Audubon Center Bent of the River will provide light refreshments starting at 6pm in the Kingsley Room.
