October will be a busy month in the Children’s Department of the Southbury Public Library!
The following programs are scheduled to take place:
Fall storytimes will begin with Babies & Books for ages 6-24 months Tues., October 18th at 10:30, Toddler Time for 2 & 3 years old will begin Weds., Oct. 19th at 10:30, and Stories & Crafts for ages 4 & 5 yrs. old will begin Thurs., Oct. 20th at 10:30. All storytimes include stories, songs and crafts.
A Spooktacular Storytelling event by Carol Birch will happen on Tuesday, October 25th at 6:30pm. Children and adults in grades 2 and up are invited to register. Younger children will be told a gentle Halloween story, and then will go to the Children’s Program Room to make a craft while the older children and adults are invited to stay for some super scary stories.
On Friday, October 28th at 4:15, Nancy Stuart will be making a Halloween Cookie Craft with children ages 7-12.
Booktalks for the month are KinderClub for kindergartners on Monday Oct. 17th at 4:15, Page Turners for grades 1 & 2 on Weds, Oct. 19th at 4:15, and the Nutmeg Book Buddies will be on Monday, October 3rd at 4:15pm.
Lego to the Library for grades1-5 will take place on Fri., Oct 21st at 4:15.
Registration may be done on the phone at (203) 262-0626 ext. 3 or by stopping in the Children’s Department for all these programs. All our programs are sponsored by the Friends of the Southbury Library.
Storytimes that have no registration are also held every week. On Mondays at 10:30, the Library offers a Drop In Storytime & Crafts for all ages and each Thursday a PJ Stories and Crafts program takes place at 6:00pm.
