Special December events in the Children’s Department of the Southbury Public Library!
Several special events are scheduled in the Children’s Department during the month of December.
The first is a special art activity featuring artist Rachel Drago. She will show children in grades two and up how to make special suminagashi marbled cards that can be given as holiday presents. This program will be held on Friday, December 2nd at 4:15pm.
The Children’s Department will also be presenting baker Nancy Stuart who will be demonstrating how to make a homemade gingerbread houses. Children in grades 3 and up will then be invited to make a gingerbread ornament of their own to take home. This program will be held on Friday, December 16th at 4:15pm.
Registration for both these programs is required and can be done by calling (203) 262-0626 ext. 3.
For the preschoolers, special holiday storytimes will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 14th for 2 and 3 year olds and Thursday, December 15th for 4 & 5 year olds. These programs will include stories, music and a variety of holiday crafts. Registration is required.
Several special movie programs will also take place. Movies and Munchies on Friday, December 2nd at 6:00 pm will feature the sequel to “Finding Nemo” and a special Tuesday afternoon movie of a pet’s secret life will be shown On Tuesday, December 27th at 2:00pm.
