8/9/2017 - Inland Wetlands Commission: Actions Taken at Meeting on August 8, 2017

The Southbury Inland Wetlands Commission took the following actions at their regular meeting held on August 8, 2017 at Southbury Town Hall.

Having considered the factors and circumstances set forth in Section 7.5 of the regulations and having reviewed all information and reports received by the commission regarding these applications, the following applications were approved.

Application #1618 534-A Winship Drive – Heritage Village; Herb Doscher, applicant; approval consists of vegetation management along the banks of the Pomperaug River for approximately 100 linear feet of river bank on both banks. The activity will include restoration efforts for hardwood tree removal along the natural banks of the river, with conditions.

Application #1620 194 Old Poverty Road; Halvor Gaasrud, applicant; approval consists of cut and fill procedure on the northwestern side of the existing residence to provide a level area for an in ground pool and associated pool facilities shed, a four foot high stone retaining wall will be installed at the toe of the cut slope along the western portion of the proposed pool, with conditions.

Permitted Activity #035 Hidden Pond Park; 1055 Bucks Hill Road; Town of Southbury, applicant; approval consists of a nine hole disc golf course with trimming and removal of selective trees up to a maximum of six inches to be cut to ground level, with conditions.

Application #1621 Calvary Chapel; 354 Kettletown Road; Calvary Chapel of Southbury, applicant; approval consists of the construction of a large building with associated parking lots, septic leaching fields and stormwater detention basin on a property that has a two drainage features, with conditions.

Application Modification #1074-C 100 & 108 Main Street North – Southbury Plaza & Proposed Driveway Change at Medical Building #1; SRG Family, LLC, applicant; approval consists of realigning a passage way over an unnamed tributary to Bullet Hill Brook, replacing the concrete block retaining wall with a poured in place concrete retaining wall, with conditions.
