11/3/2017 - “Is Our Environment Having a Bad Day?” Presentation

The Southbury Garden Club will present a program called “Is Our Environment Having a Bad Day?” by noted toxicologist Dr. Gary Ginsberg on Friday, November 3rd at 1:00 p.m. at the Southbury Public Library.

Dr. Ginsberg is a senior toxicologist with the Connecticut Department of Public Health. He regularly communicates with the legislature, local health departments and the general public on toxic exposure issues. He has drafted numerous fact sheets on chemical hazards in consumer products including: Mercury in fish; arsenic in pressure treated wood; chemicals in children’s toys; sun screen and hand sanitizers.

He received the prestigious Public Communications Award in 2016 from the International Society of Toxicology for his efforts in explaining complex toxicology issues to the public.

The hour long program will begin at 1:00 p.m. Interested local residents are invited to attend.
