5/4/2017 - Digging Deeper: Confessions of an Urban Archaeologist on May 4, 2017

History is all around us, most often in the form of paper, artifacts, and unique gadgetry. Some artifacts have yet to be discovered, but quite a few are left used and discarded. All of these items tell a story about us, our lives, and our community. For over 35 years, local urban archaeologist Greg Van Antwerp has been “digging up” the history around us at local estate, tag, and garage sales. Join us as he shares his stories, discoveries, and valuable finds.

This is a free Connecticut Community Foundation-sponsored lunchtime lecture, part of the annual History Bites lecture series. The audience is encouraged to bring a bagged lunch. Drinks and dessert will be provided for a suggested donation. Reservations are not required.
