11/27/2016 - Southbury Historical Society Holiday Open House & Food Drive on November 27, 2016

In order to kick off the 2016 holiday season, the Southbury Historical Society will host a Holiday Open House on Sunday, November 27th from 1 – 4 PM. An assortment of individual and packaged Wallace Nutting Christmas and note cards will be available along with our 2016 Christmas ornament commemorating the 250th Anniversary of the South Britain Congregational Church. Ornaments from previous years will also be on display for those hoping to expand their collection. The Society offers many other Southbury-themed collectibles, such as tote bags, local maps, books, keychains, postcards, and the acclaimed Bund documentary "Home of the Brave" on DVD.

The SHS is also proud to support the Southbury Food Bank during our Holiday Open House. During the event we will be collecting non-perishable food and hygiene items. Examples of critically needed items include:

  • Canned Fruits and Vegetables
  • Rice, Instant Potatoes, Boxed Stuffing
