6/9/2016 - Screening of "MARIAM" on June 9, 2016

Mariam, set in France, tells the story of a French Muslim teenager who must choose between her hijab and going to school when France passes the law banning the wearing of religious symbols. The film, in French with English subtitles, is 45 minutes and will be followed by a public discussion based on the themes presented in the film. This film was awarded the Special Jury Prize at 2015 Dubai International Film Festival. RSVPs kindly requested.
