4/2/2016 - Beyond Amelie: 10 French Films for Francophiles on April 2, 2016

This presentation is for you! Anne-Christine Rice will present 10 post-1980 films: comedies, dramas, and many genres in between, big budget productions and independent movies, historical films and others dealing with contemporary issues, major hits and lesser-known films. Excerpts will be shown in French with English subtitles. No previous experience with French films or the French language needed.

Anne-Christine Rice teaches French language and Film at Tufts University, where she is also the founder and director of the French Film Experience (French cine-club). She is the author of the best-selling textbook, "Cinema for French Conversation," an exciting book for incorporating French cinema and culture into a French language course. Her other textbook, "La France contemporaine à travers ses films" leverages film to explore present-day French culture and society.

Wine and dessert will be served following the presentation. Cost is $15 ($10 for AFNWCT members). Reservations are required and seating is limited. RSVP by March 29 by sending a check or paying on-line at our website.
