Mission/General Information:

The mission of the Southbury Economic Development Commission is to provide for the enhancement of Southbury’s economic base by supporting existing commercial and industrial enterprises, attracting desirable new commercial and industrial development, and promoting jobs and economic opportunities for the Southbury community.

To accomplish this mission, the Southbury Economic Development Commission sees these steps as critical in achieving our success:

           - Work to establish communication and linkage with other economic development professionals.
           - Develop an inventory detailing land and buildings available.
           - Gather appropriate information regarding sources of grant funds for various projects.
           - Work to streamline bureaucratic procedures in securing new business and industry and in the
              pursuit of grants or other governmental incentive programs.
           - Communicate with the local business community to attract additional financial support.
           - Develop a plan with Planning and Zoning detailing the type of development needed which will 
              ensure an appropriate mix of commercial and industrial types.
           - Pursue effective methods to develop/market Southbury Corporate Park.
           - Develop dedicated websites and promotional materials for use in attracting new business.
